New Economy Fuels Eastside Growth

Ever notice the number of construction cranes in the air while driving around cities on the Eastside
of Lake Washington? Tech offices, retail, residential, hotel, parks and even light rail projects are energizing an economic boom that is the envy of the country.

“Developers are definitely back in the game,” notes Ken Kime, Diamond’s Regional Manager for Bellevue and the neighboring Eastside cities of Bothell, Kirkland, Redmond, Mercer Island and Renton, as well as
Seattle’s Attended Division. This spring Ken traveled to the 2014 Parking Industry Exposition in Chicago where he learned that theEastside has the highest number of building permits issued in all of
the Western States. “Our area was singled out by industry experts. No question that we are seeing many new opportunities for growth as the Eastside’s economy expands,” adds Ken. (continued)
